Hi, my name is Darren Tan.

I've been drawing as far back as I can remember. It was the one thing I loved doing during my spare time as a kid but I never considered art as a career choice until I was well into high school. After graduating I immediately enrolled myself into an animation course in then, Lim Kok Wing Institute of Creative Technology. After a 3 year program I moved on to Sheridan, Canada where I majored in and graduated from Computer Animation.

My works are very much influenced by the western school of thought. I used to draw my inspiration from western comic artists when I was younger by imitating their style. Now though, it comes usually from the online art community, looking at other digital artists' (eastern and western) work and learning from them. At times I can also be inspired by a film I've watched, a videogame I've played or a book that I've read. I also have an insatiable appetite for medieval and ancient history and these can often be my main source of inspiration as you'll see in many of my artworks.

I'm still relatively new in the art industry but I'm certainly looking forward to learning more from other artists and improving my skills through practice and determination in the hope that I can be respectable artist in the future.
